Ski Holiday
Any tips for ski holiday training?
I am going Skiing near the end of february on a school trip to bretton woods, NH, from ireland.
I have heard that skiing is physically demanding and was advised to train before i go.
Anyone got training exercises or just general trips on skiing?
Any exercises to tone up or just become more fit – i want to be able to ski everyday and not have to rest due to injury.

Marco has pretty much covered everything – just bear in mind you need a strong ‘core’ – thighs, hamstrings, butt and abdominal muscles.
The leg press in the gym and the cross trainer are probably the best equipment to use. Stretch your quads and your hamstrings every day before and after skiing or you may get a sore lower back.
Also, if possible, work on your balance – a wobble board is great or the cheaper alternative is to stand on one leg!
