A Few Reasons to Travel to Canada on a Ski Holiday
I have just learned to ski and have been on the lookout for some great places to get started. Recently I was invited to a Facebook group called Ski Holidays Canada by some of my friends who wanted to plan a trip to a Canadian resort. This lead me to do some research on this great Skiing country – here are a few great reasons to head to Canada to ski this winter.
First off the snow is great. Nice, cold winters mean there is snow for long periods of time and there is little risk of it melting. There are also state of the art snowmaking facilities at most resorts, so you generally don’t need to worry about the weather too much.
Canadian ski resorts also have fantastic modern facilities. There has been a lot of investment into high-speed chairs, great dining facilities and good piste maintenance. You are likely to find everything in great shape no matter where you head to. You’ll also be welcomed by the friendly ‘ski-bum’ way of life. Canadians absolutely adore skiing and many build their lives around these resorts. This creates a great local culture, which is sure to welcome you.
Finally, you will get the chance to choose from a wide variety of mountains and resorts. Canada offers some of the world’s finest ski destinations such as Whistler, Banff and Lake Louise. They all cater to people of all ages so you should have no problem finding somewhere that is perfect for you.
We are going to head off to Banff this year. Looking into ski holidays in Canada made them seem too good to miss. Hope to see you there!
